About the Journal

The LALICO Journal of Literary Studies is a publication of the Departments of English and Literary Studies, Mass Communication, and Linguistics, Nigerian & Foreign Languages at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. As an integral part of the LALICO journal series, the journal is committed to fostering scholarly inquiry and critical engagement with literature across genres, cultures, and historical periods.

The journal provides a platform for researchers, critics, and literary scholars to explore the dynamic and evolving nature of literature and its relevance to contemporary society. Its mission is to inform, educate, challenge, and inspire debate on the interpretation, production, and reception of literary texts within and beyond Africa.

The LALICO Journal of Literary Studies welcomes original research articles, critical essays, and theoretical explorations that address a wide range of literary themes and approaches. Areas of interest include African literature, comparative literature, postcolonial studies, feminist literary criticism, eco-criticism, diaspora and transnational literature, oral traditions, literary theory, and the interplay between literature and other disciplines such as philosophy, history, and cultural studies.

The journal is published biannually, with occasional triannual editions dedicated to special thematic issues or landmark literary topics. All submissions are peer-reviewed to ensure academic rigor, originality, and relevance to the field of literary studies.
